Reusable sammich bags

I'd like to do a little more research before implementing this, but if shower curtains are indeed food-safe (or as safe as plastic wear), this seems like a fun option. We use a ton of plastic bags for freezing bread and I'd love to eliminate that waste.

This seems to be focused the sort of purpose of a lunch box or canvas bag, but the closing line of "these bags are food safe and the interior can be cleaned with simply a damp sponge" makes me think direct food storage is good too.

Shower Liner Reusable Lunch Bags

Does anyone have reusable bags that you use to replace plastic sandwich or gallon sized bags? We use tons of containers, but they don't work for freezing bread.

  1. We use velcro- closing cloth sandwich bags for sandwiches, snacks, etc-- anything not juicy or sticky that could leak through. Most of the time we just shake out the crumbs and then reuse them- and throw them in the laundry now and then. Could you use a cloth bag for bread? Or are you having trouble finding something that won't lead to freezer burn?

  2. Ziplock freezer bags - they last for a really long time if you wash them out. For freezing bread, my mom always saves old bread bags and double or triple bags the bread she is freezing.
